Placement agent Atlantic-Pacific Capital hired Mark Olexy, a former director in the alternative capital finance group at Lazard, as a principal in its New York office.
Olexy has 15 years experience in arranging equity, equity-linked and debt private placements, according to a biography on Atlantic-Pacific's website. He has raised capital for companies in the energy, cleantech, health care, technology, media, telecommunications, financial institutions, business service, and industrial sectors.
Atlantic-Pacific, which was founded in 1995, says it has raised about $33 billion in more than 50 private placements.
Prior to joining Lazard, Olexy had worked at Citigroup, Larkspur Capital and BMO Capital Markets. He has a BA in economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Ariz.
Olexy joined Atlantic-Pacific in May.
